Tarek Rana is a Lecturer in Accounting and Acting Director for the Centre of Public Sector Governance Accountability and Performance at La Trobe University. His research interests relate to management accounting, performance measurement and risk management, with a specific focus on public sector, not for profit (NFP), sporting clubs, and social enterprises. His current research is focused on the development and use of performance measurement, risk management and social impact assessment techniques in public, NFP, and sporting clubs.

He is developing projects by focusing on the development of impact assessment techniques designed to measure social impact and how these measurement and reporting techniques become implicated in the operations of public, NFP and sporting organisations.
